Hi! I’m Myshell (they/she). I help people uncover unprocessed trauma and reclaim their power.

Did something happen to you that keeps affecting you in harmful ways?

I want you to feel nourished and held.

Healing isn’t meant to happen alone—we need each other.

Testimonial …

“When I first reached out to Myshell, I was feeling really low. I didn’t know exactly what I needed—I just knew I needed someone to talk to. Therapy felt out of reach financially, and I honestly wasn’t sure if anything could help. But working with Myshell changed everything. She created such a gentle, welcoming space where I could just be real. Together, we started unpacking things from my childhood that I didn’t even realize were still weighing me down. Her presence helped me connect dots I hadn’t been able to see before. I didn’t feel judged—I felt seen. This work has been a lifeline.”

Do you keep having the same argument in your relationship? Do you ever feel like you're reacting, rather than responding, to the people around you?

At Inside My Shell, I believe the key to healthier relationships starts with understanding the deeper parts of yourself—the parts that often remain hidden behind the "shell" you show the world. This shell is the mask you've been conditioned to wear to protect yourself, fit in, and navigate through life. Over time, though, it can disconnect you from your true self, making it harder to connect with others authentically.

Through trauma-informed coaching, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Parts Work, and Somatics, I will help you uncover the layers of your shell and explore the different parts of you that may be holding you back. By understanding these parts, I’ll guide you toward creating more genuine connections and healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Are you ready to peek inside of your shell and get to know your true self? Let’s begin this transformative journey together.

Myshell Curry, Certified Trauma Care Practitioner

Meet Myshell

Myshell Curry (they/she) is a Certified Trauma Care Practitioner (CTCP), IFS-informed coach, somatic facilitator, and the founder of Inside My Shell — a trauma recovery practice devoted to helping clients reclaim themselves after betrayal, childhood grooming, parental loss, emotional neglect, sibling-based trauma, and other wounds often held in silence. A Black, queer multidisciplinary artist, designer, facilitator, and healer, Myshell guides individuals and couples through transformative journeys of self-liberation, relational healing, and nervous system restoration.

Rooted in a Gullah-Geechee paternal lineage from Savannah, Georgia, and a root-working maternal line from Lafayette, Louisiana, Myshell’s practice is deeply shaped by ancestral knowledge, intuitive wisdom, and culturally informed care. With lived experience as a survivor of family trauma and life with a chronic illness, they bring a grounded, empathic presence to those navigating complex relational dynamics, grief, and the long arc of healing.

Myshell’s approach is body-aware, spiritually attuned, and relationally safe — blending somatic tools, ancestral connection, and radical care. They believe healing is not linear but deeply personal and rooted in connection. Whether clients are in trauma, emerging from it, or making meaning in its aftermath, Myshell walks beside them with tenderness and clarity, holding a spacious container for truth, insight, and transformation.

Their work is informed by a vibrant background in dance, acting, organizing, and chronic illness advocacy, as well as years of facilitation within movements like Black Lives Matter (Los Angeles), Dignity & Power Now, We Rise, Into Action, and Recharge Teens. From sold-out workshops like Healing Through Hip-Hop at the California African American Museum to public speaking on grief, disability, joy, and mental health, Myshell is committed to creating liberatory spaces where culture, art, and wellness intersect.

Holding a degree in Africana Studies with a minor in Theatre Performance and additional film studies at Chapman University, Myshell’s coaching is a convergence of intellectual rigor, embodied insight, and soul-deep compassion. They hold certifications through the Global Trauma Institute and Jan Haldane Holistic Practice Training (accredited by the Complementary Therapists Accredited Association), integrating formal training with the ancestral and intuitive — all in service of healing that is authentic, holistic, and rooted in the profound pleasure of being fully alive.
